Please join us at our December Regional Education Session to be held at the 41 Lakefront Hotel, 41 Lakefront Drive, Geneva, NY, December 4, 2023.

Topic: FOIL and Open Meetings Law

On what grounds can you deny a FOIL request? What if someone wants to sit in your office and go through two years’ worth of vouchers? If three board members attend a picnic together and discuss town business, is it a meeting? Does a budget workshop have to be noticed?

Kristin O’Neill of the New York State Committee on Open Government will give a presentation and talk with us about our responsibilities under the Freedom of Information and Open Meetings Law. Bring your questions and enjoy a lively discussion.

Registration will open at 8:30 a.m. and our session will begin at 9:00 a.m. ending at noon with lunch to follow. The cost of the program, including lunch, is $40.00.

Please register no later than November 24th online or by using a paper registration form. 

In the spirit of the season, we will be collecting contributions for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society throughout the month of December. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Those who attend our session on December 4 and make a contribution for this cause will be entered into a drawing for some cool NYSTCA gear and other items!
